Client Testimonials

Nicole O’Dell, Brooklyn, NY, Workshop Participant

"African American Vintage Genealogy was professional and personable in their service, which is an important combination in genealogical research. The search for people and family members is a very personal endeavor. However, there have been warnings about potential abuse in this business due to the lack of professionalism by some, which could result in a costly venture with little results. Trust in one's professionalism becomes crucial in this field. Unlike some companies in the genealogy and other industries that only provide introductions and withhold resources to make clients dependent on their services, kYmberly was very generous in sharing a lot of tools, enabling me to continue the search on my own if I choose to do so. African American Vintage Genealogy has provided me with the reasons I need to continue working with her to find my family."

" I met kYmberly Keeton when she was the African American Community Archivist for the Austin History Center. I was very impressed with the "Growing Your Roots" Genealogy Conference she produced in February 2020. At the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel, we are doing foundational research on the African American people buried in this cemetery from the 1800s to the present. kYmberly is teaching us how to better understand genealogy records and how to inform our volunteers and the public on how to do this research as so many records were not kept or lost for these ancestors of Austin. " I am so glad we were able to work with kYmberly Keeton again. She has provided local history presentations for us in the past, so she was the only person I thought of when my library wanted to host an African-American Genealogy program. She is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. I appreciate her professionalism and patience when working with our program attendees. I would highly recommend kYmberly as a speaker and facilitator. "
